Regional Trades and Labour Councils
The eight Regional Trades and Labour Councils of Victoria are Ballarat Regional, Bendigo, Geelong and Region, Gippsland, Goulburn Valley, Malley Murray, North-East and Border and South West
These Councils extend the role of the VTHC and many of its affiliates into the rural areas of Victoria by providing forums for the discussion of union issues and co-ordination of local industrial activity. As a visible and permanent point of contact for their local communities and unionists within the region, they provide accessible community based programs and industrial and social welfare services. Unions currently affiliate to regional councils on an individual basis and, in return, the councils help them in their regional activities.
